My Top 3 Trips

Thailand

Thailand

Thailand is one of the world's most exciting, cheapest, and forever surprising destinations that has earned every bit of the description Amazing Thailand.

A Thailand vacation can mean taking to the bustling streets of Bangkok, where you can try are all sorts of spicy Thai street foods. It can also mean visiting elephant sanctuaries in Chiang Mai, where ethically practiced pachyderm tourism sometimes finds piano players serenading the animals. Thailand travel can include hitting a Full Moon Party, visiting the most stunning temples, getting a Thai massage, taking a cooking class, hiking to waterfalls in the jungle, sailing down the Chao Phraya River, or just interacting with Thailand’s incredibly friendly people.

  • Phuket is among the world’s finest beach destinations, with fine white sands, nodding palm trees, glittering seas and lively towns. It has something for any taste and budget, with hundreds of hotels to choose from, a wide choice of dining and partying options. Aside from visiting the fantastic attractions of Thailand’s biggest island, you can take an exhilarating speedboat trip to the many nearby tropical paradises, including the famous Phi Phi Islands, or enjoy a serene cruise around the mystical Phang Nga Bay.
  • Bangkok welcomes more visitors than any other city in the world and it doesn’t take long to realise why. Bangkok is a city of contrasts with action at every turn. Marvel at the gleaming temples, catch a tuk tuk along the bustling Chinatown or take a longtail boat through floating markets. Food is another Bangkok highlight, from local dishes served at humble street stalls to haute cuisine at romantic rooftop restaurants.
  • Hua Hin is a refreshing mix of city and sea with an almost cosmopolitan ambience, lively markets, great golf courses and water parks, international cuisine and excellent accommodations
  • Chiang Mai is a land of misty mountains and colourful hill tribes, a playground for seasoned travellers, a paradise for shoppers and a delight for adventurers. On a trip to Chiang Mai you can discover the wonder of Thai massage and cooking courses, go hunting for a lovely variety of handicrafts and antiques. It's got a great selection of nightlife and you can indulge in wonderful cuisine. Despite its relatively small size, Chiang Mai truly has it all.

Italy

Italy

“You may have the universe if I may have Italy.”
— Giuseppe Verdi
An amazing two week vacation for our first trip to Italy. We started in Rome, moved to a charming 100 year old villa in Tuscany and finished in Assisi and it soon became apparent that we had barely scratched the surface of this picturesque country and it's beautiful people. I loved every minute of this adventure and there is so much charm, culture and cuisine.

  • Rome, Italy’s capital, is a sprawling, cosmopolitan city with nearly 3,000 years of globally influential art, architecture and culture on display. Ancient ruins such as the Forum and the Colosseum evoke the power of the former Roman Empire. Vatican City, headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, has St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums
  • Pilgrims have been coming to Assisi, Italy since the 13th century to venerate St. Francis, who was born and buried here, but you don’t have to be religious to enjoy the beauty of this postcard-perfect town. Framed by the long, undulating hills of Umbria and the forests of Monte Subasio, Assisi is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the world and one of Italy’s most spell-binding gems.
  • Cortona - Under the Tuscan Sun The Land of Wine, Etruscans & Sunflowers
  • Tuscany is a region in central Italy. Its capital, Florence, is home to some of the world’s most recognizable Renaissance art and architecture, including Michelangelo’s "David" statue, Botticelli’s works in the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo basilica. Its diverse natural landscape encompasses the rugged Apennine Mountains, the island of Elba’s beaches on the Tyrrhenian Sea and Chianti’s olive groves and vineyards.

Holland & Belgium AmaWaterways River Cruise

Holland & Belgium AmaWaterways River Cruise

Our time aboard the AmaStella was memorable for so many reasons. The AmaWaterways cast and crew were simply outstanding and it seemed every attention to detail was take care of. Our beautiful and talented Cruise Director Rachel was funny, charming and helpful in helping ensure we had a truly memorable experience. Each day she would outline the various excursions available (up to 3 per port and all included in the price!) helping us make the best choices whether it was beer tasting in Antwerp, a bike ride on the famous canals of Kinderdijk known for its iconic 18th-century windmills or simply a tour of an historic village or town centre. The entertainment and food was equally memorable and I loved that the chef was serving exquisite locally-sourced cuisine made with only the freshest seasonal ingredients. I cannot wait to get back on board!

Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk.
  • Antwerp is a port city on Belgium’s River Scheldt, with history dating to the Middle Ages. In its center, the centuries-old Diamond District houses thousands of diamond traders, cutters and polishers. Antwerp’s Flemish Renaissance architecture is typified by the Grote Markt, a central square in the old town.
  • Ghent is a port city in northwest Belgium, at the confluence of the Leie and Scheldt rivers. During the Middle Ages it was a prominent city-state. Today it’s a university town and cultural hub. The 17th-century Delfshaven neighborhood is home to canalside shopping and Pilgrim Fathers Church, where pilgrims worshiped before sailing to America. After being almost completely reconstructed following WWII, the city is now known for bold, modern architecture
